I'm a psychologist with 30+ years experience working with people on personal and career issues. My professional experiences include a private practice for 15 years, career counseling and assessment, assisting employers with employee selection, conducting workshops and seminars, vocational rehabilitation counseling of individuals with disabilities, university teaching, and providing expert courtroom testimony on earnings loss related to disability, In the last few years of my practice, I worked in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, providing psychological services to residents and staff.
When I retired in 2009, I decided it was time to write a book. It occurred to me that I could put together a book that would enable readers to do for themselves what I used to do for my clients: assess themselves and identify jobs that will fit them to a T. The result is my book, "Changing Careers in a Changing World: Finding a Job that Fits You!" This step-by-step guide and workbook is the distillation of my years of career assessment and counseling.
I am now retired, writing articles and working on a second book, while I travel North America in an RV with my husband. I love to travel, and am fortunate to have been able to visit many countries, as well as much of the U.S. I also enjoy making jewelry (lapidary, silversmithing and dichroic glass fusing), reading and working jigsaw puzzles. Retirement is good--and writing keeps my brain active!
